At this year’s NHRA U.S. Nationals he had 4 of the 12 that competed for a Wally - this is one of those 4! This is a tribute car to the original legendary gasser campaigned in the 60’s that was driven by Bones Balogh. Bones actually drive this tribute car 50 years later at both the U.S. Nationals and the California Hot Rod Reunion. We could not have been happier to shoot this super cool, old-school drag car. Keep your eyes peeled for this car on the strip at a nostalgia race near you in 2013!

We Don't ONLY Shoot Hot Rods!

<dc:subject>Home</dc:subject>

Here’s one we wanted to share because we wanted to show people that we don’t only shoot custom cars. This is Kathy Phillips 2007 Bentley Continental GT Convertible and it is one very cool ride. With a 660 horsepower V-12 engine, this thing gets up and goes! And with all the genuine leather, real wood grain trim, and technology out the wazoo… it’s the ultimate in comfort AND style. Chris Glasgow of Charleston, South Carolina, found us on the internet and thought our work was the best he’d ever seen. He hadn’t cut any corners on rebuilding his dad’s Olds and he wanted to have the best possible pictures of the car, so made an appointment with Hot Rod Portraits. We lined up a couple of Central PA’s hottest girls and it was ON! This thing was super subtle but when you notice things like the fuel-injected 455 Olds big-block, the awesome double hood setup, embossed Olds log under the hood and the slick custom interior you know it’s a very special car. Thanks for bringing us your baby, Chris!

We Did It!!!

<dc:subject>Home</dc:subject>

We’ve finally accomplished one of our ultimate goals - we got a feature published in Hot Rod Magazine! Both of these cars have been just recently finished by Ida Automotive in Morganville, NJ. Rob Ida and his dad Bob have been building some of the most innovative, wild, immaculate, ultra-custom cars for decades - and both of these cars represent their best efforts. The 33’ Willys “Roaster” was completely built from scratch. Starting with a pile of sheet metal and some billet stock the artists at Rob Ida Concepts sculpted this masterpiece which features a hand formed body and fenders, removable top, one-off wheels with integrated custom brakes, tilt-away steering column, and a blown 600HP Cadillac NorthStar (which is notable because it, along with the tires, are the only things “store bought” on this car). There are truly too many things to list about this car and words don’t do it justice anyway, so check out the pics here.

This 37’ Chevy Coupe called “Black Opal” is a classy, low slung baggin, twin-turbo sportin’, custom dub rollin’ stunner that is bringin’ sexy back to street rodding in a big way! And I think our model friend Heather Childs helps with the “sexy” part for sure. But seriously, I love seeing street rods built by relatively young guys like Rob using modern components, with contemporary influences. Be sure to notice the sculpted fender accents, hand formed brass trim, one-off wheels, headlight and taillight treatments, motor through the hood, custom dash with billet gauge cluster, etc. Best thing you can do is check out these pics yourself here.

Check Out Our New Online Store

<dc:subject>Home</dc:subject>

We’ve been hard at work putting together our new online store. It's Jim Adams Big Dog Mastif and it has been heavily customized. The paint job is beautifully done with a really cool theme. The "Evil Twin" was painted by Mark Brown from Darlington, MD. Check out some of his fantastic airbrush artwork on his website at markbrown-studio.net. We got our good friend and playboy model, Heather Childs, to pose on this beauty and the results are stunning.

Parke Bishop's 53' Chevy

<dc:subject>Home</dc:subject>

Here's another really cool piece. We met Parke at the Ocean City Cruise in May of 08'. He and his 53' were on display in the DuPont Hot Hues booth. This car has some really slick tricks, like the Mercedes headlights, the combination of polished and brushed trim, the custom tail lights, and the straight six under the hood. Our friend Heather Childs posed for us and I'll think you'll agree that both are stunning. Terry debuted his new Zephyr Sedan Delivery June, 6th at the Street Rod Nationals East in York, PA, where it totally stole the show. You can see our pictorial coverage of the event on our web gallery by clicking here. He brought the car directly to HRP after the event and we spent 12 hours photographing this work of art. Terry has been selling Zephyr fiberglass bodies but now offers Zephyr Sedan Delivery bodies and built this car to show people what could be done.
